Our little linebacker!

We took Kemper for a weight check Friday and he weighed.....
9lbs 10oz!!!!!!!

That's what his daddy weighed when he was born! The lactation consultant said he is definitely getting what he needs and eating well! While we were at the lactation center, we met a little girl, Lucy, who is 2 days younger than Kemper and weighs 7lbs...needless to say, Kemper looked like a giant compared to her!

Enjoy the new pictures!

Sleeping so peacefully.....

Okay...I'm a mean mommy, but I had to get a pic of him throwing a fit!

And there's my angel playing on his mat....

Kemper - 2 weeks old!

After spending his first week in the hospital, we FINALLY got to come home! His second week was pretty eventful for him. His first pediatrician appointment was Tuesday. Turns out, he's not a fan of getting naked in a cold, bright room and having some strange woman examine him. But, he got a clean bill of health!! He weighed 8lbs 11oz (he lost down to 8lbs 1oz in the hospital) and shrunk to 20.5in long (at least he no longer has a cone head!). We did have one little snafu from that visit - turns out, he was tongue tied! The pediatrician made us an appointment with an Ear, Nose and Throat specialist for that very same afternoon. The frenulum (the tissue that connects your tongue to the bottom of your mouth) was connected all the way to the very end of his tongue. He couldn't stick it out any farther than his gums. The ENT doc surprised us and did the procedure (relatively simple and quick, but kinda messy) that day and while Kemper wasn't very happy for a few minutes, he quickly learned how to stick his tongue out and we have gradually seen more and more of that little tongue!

Everyone is doing great now - still trying to catch up on sleep but enjoying every minute with this little munchkin. We've been able to talk via the webcam with James a few times and at his request, he got to hear Kemper test out his lungs for a few minutes! He assures me that crying is good for Kemper's heart and lungs - I assured him it's not so great for Mommy's ears!

Hope you enjoy these pictures - keep checking back for more updates and new pictures!

Relaxin' in his Boppy Chair
